"To Kaiju what Hawkeye was to the Avengers"

Films: King Kong Escapes (1967), Destroy All Monsters (1968), All Monsters Attack (1969)

Alias: None

Type: Ancient

Location: Jungle/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: 35 meters and 8,000 metric tons.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Good

Summary: Atomic breath! Hurricane winds! God-dom! Being...a dinosaur. Just a big dino that can kick good. Okay.

History: A descendent of the Allosaurus, Gorosaurus lived on Mondo Island away from civilization, but not far enough from the belligerent King Kong. As a stand-in for a T-Rex, he didn't stand a chance against the ape, and seemed to get killed via jaw break. But inexplicably, he showed up on Monster Island in 1999 (this film's timeline, not ours), jaw perfectly intact, and living alongside kaiju that outclassed him in every conceivable way.

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: Goro manages to prove himself during the decisive battle between Earth's monsters and Ghidorah by kangaroo-kicking the space tyrant onto the ground, cementing Earth's victory. He is currently still living on the island.

Powers/Abilities: Gorosaurus' one defining trait is his "kangaroo-kick" in which he balances on his tail and kicks with both feet. He can also bury underground like Baragon, but only because Bara's suit was being used to help make Ultraman episodes at the time.

Weakness: Something of greater or equal power.

Scariness Factor: 3-Despite being a giant therapod dinosaur, Goro is far from unique, and pales in comparison to the likes of even Baragon (by the by, he's not Baragon. Stop asking). Still, you don't want to get chomped by him, do you?

Trivia: -Despite his normal look, Gorosaurus was the favorite of Toho's old special effects director, Eiji Tsuburaya.

-The 'Goro' in Gorosaurus' name is mostly likely derived from the Japanese word for thunder, gorogoro. Move over Brontosaurus, the real thunder lizard is here!
